Hello, I'm Savannah. I need some help! I think I may be a therian, and I'm convinced that I have been shifting for awhile, before I even knew about therians.
Okay, so first I'll give you a bit of a background check. I'm young, only fourteen. I learned about Therians and such around this time last year and I considered it for awhile, since all my life I've wanted to be an animal. When I was young I watched Lion King and Spirit and Tarzan. Princesses freaked me out lol. I always used to pretend I was an animal, and I went through phases where I acted like a dog, or I ran like a horse (though on two legs... my legs would function like the front legs of a horse).
I've always loved animals. When I was six or seven, I remember petting a deer. Not just any deer either, a fawn. My mom even has a picture of me with it.
So its been around this time that I've started to feel... separate from others. Sometimes, when I'm walking in a forest near my house or in the farmer's field nearby, I'd feel like my senses would sharpen and I'd notice the area around me. I'd go on my knees and watch the bugs in the grass, or watch the sparrows zip around to catch the flies hazing around the warm, sweet grass. I love to describe it too- its my happy place, so to speak. There were other times too. Once, I was hanging out in said field with a few friends and a cloud was blocking the sun, making a shadow crawl across the field. It was fast- but I felt such an energy take over me that I sprinted after it and kept pace with it until it reached the end of the field! I've never been a fast runner, but I felt like I could run for days and I loved it! I began chasing the sparrows and just running in general while my friends watched me in amusement.
Now... I'm convinced I am a therian, but I still have not found the animal inside of myself. I am guessing it could be a deer, since I love the field and the encounter with the fawn at such a young age.
Basically, I'm looking for some sort of support here! I'm new to these feelings. If you could tell stories about your first shift and give the support I need, that'd be so great!
Thanks!
~Savannah
