Oh, me? Mad? I never, ever would be. I'm very, very difficult to offend.
I tend to do similar things--someone at work has been profoundly screwing with me and today I actually backed away from him and THUMPED. I felt like a total moron.

I think every one of us has a story like that -_- like that time I growl-hissed at my mom while arching my back and clawingthe arm of the couch?
Yeah, the inhumanity in the way the person looks at you (aka, the "WTF is wrong wit' u?" look) really burns...
It's probably why there's chocolate in the world

Oh, God. Lol! I typically try to hide these things, but the urges are there. Like, it bothers me tremendously if say, I'm at work and while I'm off on break or something, someone takes over my spot, even if they are only doing so for a couple of minutes. I generally get along with most people, but I'm not really a people person. That always makes me irritable and I have to urge to run over to my cutting-board (I work in a restaurant as a prep cook) and mantle it (aka, spread my "wings" out over it so no one sees it or can take it). One time I did this to a coworker, but at that time, I was only kidding. He said, "Just because you work with birds of prey doesn't mean you have to act like one!" I said, "Yes, I do!" Usually, I get irritable, though. And also will sometimes have the urge to kick them off and chase them out of my "territory."
Lol! Of course, I have to catch myself and try not to act irritably - I did react irritably once to this one guy, and it didn't go over so well.
And... if my fiancee is "preening me" (giving me scritchies on the head), I'll tilt my head happily and close my eyes, like a bird whose mate is preening them.
And I'm always cracking jokes about "tasty" things, like mice, gophers, rabbits, etc. (Though I usually don't mention rabbits - for me, it's usually gophers).
We have this chocolate mousse dessert thing at work that we have to make - and it's typed out on the prep list as "chocolate mouse," because whoever typed it in couldn't spell (obviously).
So I always call it "chocolate mouse," and snicker at the concept. "Tee-hee, chocolate mouse!!!" *snicker*
Wow... who would have known chocolate was invented for us therians? ;D

I tend to get that look whenever I show my emotions. Why, I dunno. But I hate it. It's why I keep all of my emotions bottled up inside.

I don't think I've ever gotten "the look" because of someone's reaction to a shift. Everyone just calls me cute or rabbit like and moves on.
And Kaninchen, don't worry about the thumping, I would (and have) done the same. It's funny though when you catch yourself and wonder, Arrrggg, what the heck am I doing? I'm human! *puts fists up instead*
X3 Kidding.

I didn't get a strange, off-putting look, in fact I don't think anyone really noticed that it was a thump at all. My manager seemed to think that I'd tripped and asked if I was alright.
I love everyone at work but this one guy, really, and I tend not to have huge issues with shifting. Basically all the rabbit in me wants to do is play and have fun. It translates fairly well to humanity, and I suppose the only problem is that the rabbit seems to think that physical aggression is a fantastic way to show solidarity and affection.

RedFeather>>I'm the same way with my emotions unless I'm with the few people I really really trust. But then the people that look at me like I'm insane and should just shut up when I express my emotions start whining with things like "Why don't you ever tell us how your feeling?" blah blah blah blah...*shakes head* loonies, all of them
Kanin>>I sooo know what you mean. You have to pounce on the person and smack them around to show your love. Wonder how many animals do this...
Back to RedFeather>>I almost forgot...I do the same thing with my boyfriend and my dad when they scratch the base of my head. I arch into it and close my eyes whilst purring (or kneading whatever is in reach of my "fore-paws" as it were)
