I saw this post on werelist, and I thought I might as well start up a debate about this here.
So, what are some of your favorite foods? Do you think this relates to your therianthropy? Or do you think it's just a human trait of yours? Either way, please explain!

most of it is probably simply human, although i must say i highly prefer meat to veggies, i dont think this has any relevance to one's theriotype. we are all in a human body, and what we think is good depends more on body then in soul i think... EDIT: unless we're in shift ofcourse

Copy/pasted from that same thread:
Since I've awakened, my diet has gradually shifted to more and more toward vegetarian. This probably also has a lot to do with me being shifted most of the time (no, I am not a sun/contherian). At first I didn't believe that diet related at all to being a therian, but now I believe that sometimes it may.
I don't like the taste of red meat, can tolerate chicken to a degree, and I prefer to not eat either. I love my veggies, fruits and seafood. If I'm invited for dinner though, I will happily eat anything because I'd feel very rude otherwise.
----
I would like to add that even when I'm not shifted, it still affects my eating. I've picked up many little habits from my therioside, and diet is one of them. :3

Well, for me, I love red meat. I like chicken, though it's not at the top of my list. I eat it fairly often, but I like red meat and seafood oh-so-much-better.
Hawks don't typically eat seafood, though I did have a bald eagle life (not that that's what I'm saying I am - I am a hawk - just that it's a life experience I've had).
So, I don't know really. Can't say. I definitely see it as a possibility, though.

I prefer red meat to vegetables, but I love fruit and vegetables too. I do not know if it has to do with my theriotype, but whenever I get a chance to eat meat, I do that. Chicken is delicious, and fish too. I know that I began to love red meat more after the first experiences of being a therian than I did before, but I've always loved it a lot.

WinterWolf, what do you mean by first experiences of being a therian? Do you mean shifts?

By first experiences I do not precisely mean shifts, but it resembled it quite a lot. It felt pretty much as if I were a wolf, but only because of a sudden urge to howl. These experiences kept on for a while, about two years I think, more or less, but now they are much stronger, and now I experience things such as a heightening of some senses and/or wolf-like behavior.

Yeah. I can identify with shifts getting stronger over the years. I've noticed that my mental shifts are now much deeper than they were when I experienced my first few shifts. Not really sure why this is. Maybe I'll post a topic asking about this.

well, like slyfor said, I'm not sure that my eating habits relate to my therian sides, but rather what my body says it needs. But I do eat alot of meats, my favorites are red, and fish has always been a favorite of mine. I know that my feline side lets me enjoy the meats more, but she doesn't necessarily require them (until I'm in a shift)

Some of my favorite foods maybe meat mostly there are also a few veggies in there, but I have to say meat it a definite favorite over all. I love my red meats the most, though other kinds are good to.
I think that even though my therianthropy heavily influences my eating habit greatly in the since of urges to eat meat more, I can not say that that is the only cause for my love of meat. It is really hard to say how much my wolf self influences my tastes.

I love red meat. Chicken, beef, I mean all of it. I have always liked meat, but not literally RED. I use to like it medium-well, but I had steak last night and I didn't cook it all the way. Since I had been having these urges for really red meat, I decided to give it a try, and I it was wonderful. It drove my taste buds crazy. But I also like fruit and some veggies.

I was a carnavore to begin with, my dad and I share a deep love of red meats. The one dramatic change I've noticed is how I like it prepared. I used to eat it medium well, now it HAS to be at least medium-rare if not rare. I also have cravings for hot raw meat. not cooked, just hot. I also don't like alot of spices, I like it as close to natural as possible.
I don't really like poultry, but I LOVE fish. Especially sushi. nothing makes me happier these days than good sushi.
Other than that, I love fruit and cheese.

I usually eat a lot of meat like beef, red meat, and chicken, but I love fruit too. This could be a result of my therian side. All I know is I stopped eating veggies. For some reason ...sweets have started to make me feel REALLY sick.

Like my Theriotype I tend to like meat best but I'll eat anything. I'm a bit of a happy glutton.
