Hello everyone! I am Earth Listener. A 19 year old dark brown wolf therian. Although I only just stopped only lurking and reading several mouths ago and started actually joining and being apart of the therian community I have know about my nature for along time.

As far as I can remember I had an odd ‘connection’ with wolves that always seemed like it wasn’t just because I liked them. I would also act out canid behaviors naturally and not like I was just playing. Then during the summer of the year that I was 15 I began to experience shifts and fully came to realize that my connection was more than that. It wasn’t until the spring of the year that I was 17 that, I by chance I stumbled upon therianthropy on the internet. I was highly skeptical at first, but as I read through therian websites I keep feeling complete déjà vu. The rest, I can safely say is a bit of history.
In one way or another, I am a wolf fully within a human body. That is simply how I am. I don’t see myself having a ’wolf side’ and a ‘human side’ for I am always both human and wolf. It is all just me in one whole.

I love to hike or even just simply walk. I am a bit of a bookworm and listen to music a lot from a lot of different styles. I am not to big of a TV person but when I do watch anything it is mostly on an animal, science, or history related channel. I also like to write stories and poems in my free time for fun.

You sound a lot like me. I'm similar, in that I don't think of it as being a "hawk side" and a "human side." I'm one spirit - a hawk's spirit, inside of a human body.

It suits me quite well because I love to listen to others tell their stories and life experiences and I find myself simply listening to the sound of wind and/or rain. You can actually learn a lot of things from thunderstorms. ;D

What do you wish to be called? Earth Listener

How old are you? 19

Are you male or female, or somewhere in between? In other words, what is your gender identity? female

Are you a therian? yes

What is your theriotype? Wolf (Canis lupus)

How did you come to these conclusions? When I was little I always felt like I was a wolf in some way on the inside. When I got older I began experiencing shifts and feeling even more wolf.

What kind of influence is your theriotype? In other words, is it an inner influence, and outer influence? Or something else entirely. Please explain! The wolf that I am influences ever part of me because it is a whole part of me. It influences in some way my behavior, my actions, my likes and dislikes, and so on and everything.


Have you ever shifted? If so, what are your experiences with shifting? yes I shift quiet a bit.

Dream Shift - I have dream shifts quiet often, anywhere form every night to one a week. Usually it consists of me acting like a wolf in a forest but sometimes it takes on a more abstract dream setting that I just happen to be a wolf in.

Mental Shift - As of late I am always in a somewhat wolfish minded state to some slight degree but generally daily if not more then once a day this degree will deepen and I will gain an even more wolf mentality.

Phantom Shift - I experience constant phantom wolf ears and tail always though there ‘solidness’ varies a bit hour by hour. I also experience muzzle, fur, paws, fangs, claws, head, and even full body (in that rough order of commonness) from near daily to about monthly.

Astral Shift - I experience astral shifts every once and a while, in a rough time frame about once a week to have a mouth.

Sense Shift - This shift usually only effects my hearing and smell, with my smell being most common. During this shift I seem to notice smells and sounds that I normally wouldn’t normally pick up at all or as well.
Cameo Shifts - I’ve only ever cameo shifted a few times. Twice were bird wings and once were cat whiskers.

Do you consider yourself any particular "type" of therian? In other words, are you a contherian? A syntherian? So on. (If you do not know what these terms mean, that's alright, please let us know.) I roughly consider myself a syntherian, but I’m not much a labeling person. I consider myself this though because I experience constant mental and phantom experiences to some degree.

How long have you known about your therianthropy? When did you come into the community? I have known that I was in some way that I was a wolf sense I was little but I didn’t begin experiencing shifts and learn that I ‘was a wolf’ until the spring of 2004. I did not find the community until the fall of 2006.

Are you otherkin? no

What led you to this conclusion? If you are both otherkin and therian, please explain why you feel you are both. n/a

What do you hope to gain from joining our community? I hope to meet, interact, and discuss with others about therianthropy and about varies experiances.
