Wow, that is amazing. The detail on the feathers is beautiful. What kind of paint did you use?
I’ve never been to good at actual painting unless it is watercolor. Oil-based and acrylic-based paints have never really worked well for me.

amazing work RedFeather! I wish I was that good at art...sheesh, I mean, the DETAIL! It must've taken you alot of patience, but the outcome was marvelous! If I had any money, I would really ask you to make one (or two...or three) for me!

God, sorry... I failed to see the responses here. It's acrylic. Funny thing is, on the rare occasion I've tried watercolors in the past (when I was in high school) I really sucked at it. I've always been pretty decent with acrylics, though. Patience, maybe, although I have to admit that I was having fun doing it, so it wasn't like it was something I had to drudge through, or anything. Yeah... the drum itself was about seventy bucks. So it would probably be pricey, since you'd at least have to pay for the price of the drum.
