I understand that this is one of the hardest shifts to do. I'm just going to make this a short definition. If you want ot get details, go to Therianthropes United.
Astral shifting is projecting your therian side onto the astral plane. I read that it takes an extreme amount of concentration, and years to accomplish. Even if you do pull it off, you can only do it for a few seconds.
I'm just asking if someone in this community has actually seen/done this. If they did it, how?

From what I hear, that's incorrect. You can stay out for more than a few seconds, and it doesn't take years of practice. What matters more is that some times are better than others for it, and that's arbitrary. There's an article on it on Werelist and Therian.Wikia (at least, I think there is)

Form what I’ve researched astral shifting, like its ‘normal’ non-shifting counter part astral projection, differs from person to person. For some it comes naturally. For others it takes practice.
I’ve astral shifted a few times over the past two years. Usually, for me, it just ‘happens’ like a lot of my other shifts sometimes but on occasion I can will myself to have one. I don’t know of any real limit to the time that one can remain in there astral projected state. I’m still learning and researching about it though.
