I've understood that many therians are partially shifted all the time or shift often, but then I came to wonder, is it as usual with therians who shift very rarely, but have deeper shifts? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but well, if one doesn't ask, one won't get a reply, right?

I don’t know. I guess like a lot of things when it comes to therianthropy it varies form person to person. I’ve heard of therians who don’t shift a lot and rarely do but they still experience shifts that aren’t any more intense and less intense then a therian who shifts a lot. Then again I’ve heard of therians who don’t shift a lot but when they do the shifts are usually intense. It all varies a lot from individual to individual, I think.

Not sure about that. I just know personally for me as I learnt to accept myself and understand my therianthropy, I've noticed my shifting seems less prominant than it once did. It seems these days I feel more 'integrated' with lynx and human. Not to say I don't shift, I feel my ears and tail constantly. They just don't seem 'deep'. Then again I wonder if they ever did feel 'deep'. For me it was more 'oh oh! That was a ph-shift! So thats what it is.' when I first learnt the term therianthropy, now it's more 'it's part of me.'.
Not such an exciting answer but thats for me personally, haven't had any 'woah' sort of mental or phantom shifts yet.

I've had some of really deep shifts, I even had a couple where I was Ph- and M-shifted at the same time. And I don't really shift all that much except for Phantom shifting, and when I do, (shift otherwise) normally the wolf part of my completely takes over. (random comment: my tail tingles...)

I consider myself to be a frequent shifter, experiencing a shift every week or two. However, these shifts last only moments, sometimes stretching into half an hour at best. Rarely though, I will have very deep shifts (usually a mental shift accompanied by a phantom shift) and those can last quite a while, up to an hour or more. Intense is the way to describe them but they only occur very rarely, maybe two or three times a year. So for me, I have many light, short shifts and then a rare deep shift that lasts a while.

I don't see why not. Just because you experience something that's different from the norm, doesn't always mean that you're wrong. We are all different, and experience things differently.
With me, I guess you could say I feel shifted all the time, though it's not something I'm consciously conscious of. I don't even really know if I shift. It seems to me like I always have the ability to feel my wings/feathers, etc. - all I have to do is think about it, and they're there. But I don't ever have any unpredicted, intense shifts. I consider myself to be always hawk, rather than being human, then shifting into a hawk. If that makes sense.
But yeah. We're all different, so we all experience things differently. I don't see why there wouldn't be those who don't shift often, but who shift intensely.

I find myself shifting constantly. I try to do so consciously every now and then. For me, repression or stress seems to be the trigger for some serious episodes.
For example, I remember one time when I was playing hockey I took a slapshot directly in the nuts and let me tell you this shot was fierce. Did you know the back of your eyeballs are actually ticklish? I didn't know that until they nearly popped out of my head. Anyway, as soon I picked myself up from the fetal position I experienced a mental and phantom shift at the same time. It was involuntary and immediate. I could actually see the fur on my body and the muzzle in front of my face.
Instinctively I let out a huge growl, low and animalistic, and I crashed the net as fast as I could without express-mailing the goaltender all the way to Buddha and back. Of course, bringing that kind of intensity after nearly being neutered through blunt force meant the opposing team became so intimidated they just let me through without hassle. As a result I set up a pass for the game winning goal.
I was so pissed off...

It's different for everybody. Personally it's very hard for me to shift around humans. I can sometimes do it with my father around, but never my mother or my brother. (They don't know I'm a therian)
I used to shift a lot, several times a day in fact, but it's slowed down recently due to the heavy human contact in recent months. I was once home alone for 3 weeks, and eventually got to the state of being shifted all the time. But being the fact that I've only been able to shift once a month or so recently, I am probably due for a deep shift.
I rarely P-shift, at least fully. Usually though if I'm angry or am disturbed by something my upper lip twitches up to show my teeth. I guess it's a partial P-shift all the time.
Like I said, it's different for everybody, this is the first time I've talked to other therians, but I've heard too many stories to say that there is a standard.
