I’m curious, what different kind of phantom limbs do you experience and which ones are more common or less common for you in terms of shifting? I know that phantom ears and tail are the most common in general, but I wonder what other phantoms are somewhat and semi-common among the therian community and which one’s are not.
For myself, wolf ears and tail are the most common for me (in fact they are constant feelings). After that from common to least common for me, is phantom muzzle, phantom fur, phantom paws, and full phantom wolf body.

The usual for me would be phantom ears, and tail. I've probably had others but I usually don't keep up with it. I had the muzzle a few times. Other than that, nothin'.

I wasn't feeling up to answer this until I started getting wordy on LJ, so here..
1. Ears 2. Tail 3. Paws 4. Face 5. Body
I constantly have my ears, then tail is much less often and is quite a pain. Literally. Paws are nearly tied with tail, but I usually only get them when I'm about to fall asleep or am lazing around in bed. I use my hands constantly, so I guess I unconsciously push that shift away. Face and body usually go hand in hand, and are also when I'm in bed.
Heh, I guess I have my deeper, unconscious phantom shifts when I'm coziest.
I say unconscious, because shifting is merely mind over matter. As I've said in several communities, it's like flicking a switch but the hard part is finding it.

hmm... I guess for me it might be the ears, though I don't really notice them. Tail is another one, though lately that hasn't been as strong, like with other stuff... I usually feel fuzzy all the time, but that's kinda easy, being fuzzy... Full body from all that isn't that far, as raccoons have similar hands, it's just that because I'm in human position, I guess I stay the same in shape... I'm like with Nousagi about the full shifts in bed thing, I find when I'm laying about that's when I feel it the most.

I agree with the in bed thing. Usually I never notice it until later, because it feels natural until I think about it.
My most common are my legs and back(fur specifically there) with my tail, oddly enough. I'll get fuzzy feelings and chills on my back that signal fur to me... and i'll start walking on my tip-toes. my mom used to laugh at me when I did that when i was little... how could she have known.... =)

Like everyone else the most common I've had would be ears and tail, they seem to be almost constant. I get my paws not as often as my ears and tail, usually when I'm working (which involves picking up biscuits most of the time).
The most obscure one I've had however was with my teeth. When I first started my orthodontic treatment I had all sorts of weird and wonderful contraptions in my mouth. One of which was the head gear which I had to sleep with, with that on I used to feel my canines should be larger and my insisors felt they should be smaller in proportion. The feeling was that disorientating I'd wake up some mornings with it pulled out, sometimes it'd be just stuck in my gum.

Add me to the "ears" phantom shift list :] I can almost feel them when I'm being expressive: ears laying back when I'm upset or angry, perked when something startles me, etc.
I don't actually get many tail ph-shifts though, which somewhat surprises me.
Lately, a lot of my phantom shifts are based on muscle mass. My upper body begins to feel awful heavy, and I feel more powerful than my physical body really is.

Hmm... I have the tail and ears a lot, the tail feels funny though, I can't seem to move it very well unless There's some strong emotion. (Anger, it stays still and sort of flicks violently, startled and it shoots up, straight when I'm stalking something.) I've had the ears constantly pretty much since I've awakened. (Startled and they prick up, and move toward wherever it was, same with when I hear something, and flat back when I'm angry.) I suppose I have the muzzle fairly often too, it kind of feels like your nose and mouth are too long and you should be seeing them. I've been having fur when I go outside and romp in the snow, (lemme say that it's really really nice to have.) But I've only had the body a few times though, but the paws happen more then the fur. I find myself on tiptoes a lot with my hands curled into paws. Anybody else ever had claws?

My most common phantom limbs are the mane of fur down my back and my muzzle. Strangely enough, ears never were a big physical sensation for me. Paws are about the third most common followed by full hyena body with full fur.

Well, I've only had one strong phantom shift and that was with neck fur.

Wow, I never posted in here. I have wings - usually when I feel my wings, it's my arms being the wings, though sometimes I can feel them as extra limbs coming from my back, also. I have phantom feathers that I can feel sometimes when they are fluffed out. And sometimes, I can feel my talons.
