What do you wish to be called?
Midnight is fine
How old are you?
27 at the moment
Are you male or female, or somewhere in between? In other words, what is your gender identity?
I'm female
Are you a therian?
Yes, I'm pretty sure I am.
What is your theriotype?
Feline and maybe Equine
How did you come to these conclusions?
I've been living with cats since I was three, and was more interested in them than any of my toys as a child. I was mesmerized by the way cats react to your every touch. My own strongest sense is touch as well, so I automatically knew how to touch them in order to make them purr like little kittens
I've been compared with cats since the age of 8, as I was 'catty' and anti-social, as well as unpredictable and a loner. I was always different than others, and because I often reacted to what they felt instead of what they said, I wasn't always popular.
The two years in my life I didn't have cats I went mad, till I went to a shelter to help out and adopted a couple. Since then I've been busy with sort of a mini shelter for stray cats. Right now I'm studying cat behaviourism to build more of a scientific foundation on what I already know. I have six cats myself, and when I visit friends with cats, even aloof ones come and say hi.
As for the Equine part, I'm not sure yet. I have an immense urge to be free sometimes. To get away from it all and most preferably somewhere in a wide open field, so I don't feel locked up. There is nothing more blissfull to me than horsebackriding outdoors, and my big dream is to eventually be good enough so I can do that without reins and saddles, to be just one with the horse.
I'll be honest, I've often said 'I dont belong in this society', and 'I feel like a cat', or 'I envy wild horses', but I never had the guts of actually acknowledging that I AM those things, till I saw the term Therian and then it just clicked into place: I'm not mad, I'm not just delusional, it actually does make sense
What kind of influence is your theriotype? In other words, is it an inner influence, and outer influence? Or something else entirely. Please explain!
Please explain the question
Have you ever shifted? If so, what are your experiences with shifting?
I have. Euhm, they are kinda personal. I tend to shift when I'm completely relaxed and well...feel quite animalistic. I'm willing to give more details, but I believe you have minors on your board
I'm sure I've shifted on other times as well, but those were the most obvious ones I've felt.
Do you consider yourself any particular "type" of therian? In other words, are you a contherian? A syntherian? So on. (If you do not know what these terms mean, that's alright, please let us know.)
Not sure what a syntherian is. I'm stilll new at this.
How long have you known about your therianthropy? When did you come into the community?
I've known a couple of weeks and taken a look at your werelibrary (I loved the articles on the characteristics of canine therians and feline therians) . This is the first step I set in the community itself.
Are you otherkin?
I think so.
What led you to this conclusion? If you are both otherkin and therian, please explain why you feel you are both.
I'm still working out the confusing kinks. My perfect image of life includes living in a forest with a lake and not caring about the rest of the world. I've felt that way all of my life. If I could escape society when I was young, I did (and still do). And the longer I'm away from Nature the more depressed I am. I've always felt I didn't belong in this world built by humans. And I am fiercely protective of Nature, especially that in my homeland.
The reason I feel both is because they overlap in important parts, and basically one picks up where the other leaves off. When it comes to instincts, mine are clearly feline and equine. When it comes my perspective on the world and human kind, it is clearly the view of a local nature spirit.
How long have you known about otherkin? When did you realize you are otherkin?
Same time as therians.
What do you hope to gain from joining our community?
Self-knowledge.
