i was just wondering how many of you have been diagnosed for a handicap or something similar, but it turned out to be untrue..
i personally have been mis-diagnosed 3 times now, for PDD-NOS, DAMP and Asperger, they all came out to be wrong diagnoses, which makes me wonder if my therioside might have something to do with it, which i why im asking if you ever have been misdiagnosed

Avarian, first of all, welcome! Second of all, you need to post an introduction before you post anything else.

I don't think anyones ever diagnosed me with anything mentally, but I've been to a few therapists and the like whom can't figure out what's wrong with me. Physically, though, I have a problem with eating. Whenever I eat, it makes me sick to my stomach and I feel like I'm gonna pass out. All the doctors I've been to either pin it on me being a teenager with my hormones raging out of control (which I doubt, because it's been happening ever since I was a little kid) or they say that I have acid reflux. *rolls eyes*
Definitely interesting to think that it could be connected to therianthropy, though.

Yeah, I have bipolar, ADHD, and possibly aspergers. I also have various stomach problems, and problems with fatigue, and occasional fevers. These have not been able to be pinned down as anything yet.
I wouldn't say that I've been misdiagnosed as having anything, other than the occasional "I think you have a virus" when I don't think that I do.

I used to have fatigue issues - they aren't so bad now. But it seems to be related to people and the general public. I personally feel it's an energy-related thing. Also used to have depression issues - but I'm trying to heal that now. Funny how my parents were quick to send me off to a psychologist and put me on depression meds, when the underlying problem was obviously the physical abuse by my father. *rolls eyes*
Then there's my left ear, which occasionally decides to plug up and stay that way for weeks.
I guess those are the unsolved-doctors-can't-figure-it-out issues with me.
I'm not denying that any of these things exist, because I believe they do. But sometimes people focus a little bit too much on the "problems" and the diagnoses and such - and we are all just who we are.

True. But these have been going on for a while. For the fatigue, I wonder if it's vampirism, for the stomach issues, they think I may have colitis or misfiring of nerves...no one is sure.

It could be vampirism. I don't automatically jump to conclusions, but when I was in, I believe, the 10th grade, I had this one class, geometry, that I just could not, for the life of me, stay awake in. I'd never had that problem before, and I tried very hard to stay awake, but failed every single time. It got so bad that the teacher called my mom out of concern, I was taken to the doctor, but nothing was wrong with me. I went to bed at a normal time - I didn't stay up really late, or anything.
And mysteriously, when that semester ended and I started school back up again, I never once had that problem. Yeah, sometimes I'll get tired and out of energy, especially when around a lot of people. But never to the degree that I literally could not stay awake.
I do feel that there was someone in that class who was taking my energy. I am not sure who, or why, but that's the only conclusion I could come up with, since there didn't seem to be any medical issues, and there seemed to be no explanation.

They don't dare diagnosing me. <.< Everytime they get ready to, I apparently exhibit behaviours that make them think otherwise.

XD same thing happens to me in a few classes. I dont believe that it is any type of energy thief (for me, i hope not for you...) but i think that in these classes it was just the teacher's voice. i found that some people tend to put you to sleep when they talk. curiously, it was tenth grade math that also did it for me. I fell asleep everyday. guaranteed. Back on topic... no, i have never been mis-diagnosed.however i am asthmatic, and that is about all that the doctors have found wrong with me. other than that... the psychologist doesnt know how to interpret me. i went once... when this whole ordeal as of late started... and i think i just left him more confused than anything.
