New intro rules link is broken, so hopefully this is fine...
Anyway, my name is Zuki, and I'm a Russian Blue therian (nailing down a breed took a year of research and self-study) . Really I'm not sure what to really say, but I guess I should start with my awakening.
It all started about a year ago, when I came to accept that I was a furry. I had always felt a very strong spritual connections with cats, and this spawned a huge journey of self discovery. I really didn't know much.about myself at all, because I had gone through a great deal of abuse of varying kinds since the age of nine, and so my sense of self was extremely repressed. I had also been sucked into a rather radical religious group at the time, and this caused the religion to literally become my "self" in a sense. I was essentially a religious zombie robot. XD
I first heard of therianthropy through an artist I knew of though the furry community, and described to her what I felt personally, and she personally wasn't sure as to whether or not I was a therian, because I strongly suspected that I might be. Since what she described was a lot different than what I felt, I did a bit of research, and came to the conclusion that I was in fact therian, just different from her. At this point, the only concrete info I had was the basic definition of therianthropy.
Not too long after that, I had what I later identified as a dream shift, and from what I could see, I was a dark colored domestic feline with green eyes. I initially thought that I was a Havannah Brown, but after a bit of considering the viewing conditions in the dream shift, as well as the breeds' personality traits, I realized that it didn't fit, and meditated on it, and came up with a grey feline with green eyes. After more research, I stumbled across the Korat, and for a while accepted it - the personality of the cat fit me, I has always felt a strong connection with Asian culture to the point where it was actually a sort of "racial dysphoria" and the cats' appearance matched what I had seen in moonlight (clearer lighting than the yellowish light I was in for a lot of my dream) so I thought I had the whole theriotype thing figured out.
How I discovered that I was Russian Blue and not Korat was when I began browsing a site that was created to help people identify different kinds of gray cats. What I exprienced was a simple, yet surprising case of plain old, "THIS ISWRONG!" I looked at a picture of a Korat's head in profile, and my brain literally screamed at me. I then looked at the picture of the Russian Blue beside it, and instantly I just /knew/. I did more research on Russian Blue's, and found that it fit me even better than Korat ever did.
And that's essentially my story. As far as other things go, I'm agnostic, but my spiritual beliefs are an almagram of Buddhism, totemism, and Wicca. If you want to know about anything else, just ask.
Very Respectfully,
Zuki
