Hello, I found out about this place from MinHawk, who is my wonderful mate.
Like her I'm also a bird of prey, however I'm a Golden Eagle therian. I'm into a lot of the same stuff as her and we share similar beliefs. I consider myself a shamanic/new age pagan. My theriotype has changed a lot through the years. Through the years I've considered myself eagle, unicorn, Utahraptor, dragon, then back to eagle. I'm pretty sure Golden Eagle is my main theriotype now, though the others may be minor or secondary theriotypes.

The others are most likely totems. You could be mistaking them for theriotypes, also, as I said to MinHawk, I too am a new-age shamanistic pagan.
Anyhow, welcome!

Sekkada: Dragon and Unicorn MAY be totems, though I don't really feel either of those energies much anymore. As for Utahraptor, I know it was a past life (and I know that just cause you have a past life as something it doesn't mean that it's a theriotype) and I felt that's what my theriotype was for several years. Just in the past year or so the eagle energy came back to me, and that's what I feel the most now.
*pokes Min the spazzhawk* lol
nice to meet everyone. I may not post much in here, but I'll at least check once a week.

Since you don't seem to feel those energies much more, I doubt they were anything more than totems. Sometimes totems will appear briefly and then leave.

That's pretty much how it was for me, too... except I had only one "theriotype" before this one, the Utahraptor. I was totally convinced I was that, and I even had shifts, both phantom and the occasional mental, associated with that. But for whatever reason, I realized for a while that I had stopped feeling Utahraptor, and I wasn't sure what I felt... then a couple of months later, I started to realize I felt more like a bird, a red-tailed hawk specifically, and I later started having memories and shifts associated with that life, as well. One wouldn't have shifts if it was just a totem, would they? There's always the idea that maybe it's a matter of being a different type of polywere, or something, too. Maybe there's a type who tends to take things one at a time, instead of all at once. Sorry, just thinking about things. I will probably never know.

Okay... I wasn't sure if a shift designated a theriotype or not. That makes sense, though, come to think of it. Yay for me asking silly questions.
Yes, we did. We've known each other for about five or six years, though most of that time we only knew each other online. Way back then, I was just starting to find places that pertained to therianthropy online, and I met a group of people who felt they were therian raptors (the dinosaur kind, not the bird kind) - a few people, anyway. He was one of them. We got along nicely back then, and kind of liked each other, but after a while, things kind of fizzled, and we didn't talk to each other for a few years. Then, we found each other online again (we had both thought the other was offline) and continued in our friendship. It was found out that we both had an interest in the other, and so we decided to try out a relationship.
Around the same time, I was in a VERY crappy living situation that I couldn't get out of, and he said to come move to MT with him, so I did. I wouldn't do this with just anyone, but I knew him enough to know that he's a nice person and all. We have been mates ever since, and just recently got our own apartment. He's the sweetest, best guy in the world, and I'm not sure exactly why he puts up with me.
Anyway... up here in MT, before I moved, he had said there was a raptor rehab center he was planning on trying to volunteer at. I wanted to get involved, because that sounded so cool to me - working with wild birds of prey. So... he took me to one of their meetings when I first got here, I applied, and we've both been volunteering there ever since.
And we both had that change happen. I am not sure if it connects with the raptor center or not, but I have a deep intuitive feeling that hawk is what I am, and Utahraptor is something of the past. Oddly, so does he, with the eagle. (Although he knew before all of this that he'd had a lifetime as an eagle - I didn't know anything except for my Utahraptor life...) Why it happened that way, I don't know. But it did. It wasn't because of each other, though it happened with us at about the same time.

it probably had a lot to do with the raptor center and feeling the energy of the birds there and realizing that our energies connected more with their energy than the Utahraptor energy we felt before.
