allo to all I'm fairly new to the therian community, and I've got my heart set on finding out as much as I can about myself, and others that are like me. I'm mostly certain I am a horse/cat theri but I'm still sort of questioning my sanity on that the whole bi-species thing never made much sense to me but anywho, hi to all, glad to be here. Hope to learn, and maybe even teach!

Hello! Nice to meet you.
Well, I know more than one species doesn't make sense to some people, but some people really seem to be more than one species. I know of one on LJ who is a friend of mine.
And then there's me... I used to shift and such, and was a Utahraptor therian. Until things decided to change randomly (it wasn't something I did on purpose) and I sort of became a hawk therian, which I have been ever since. And I've shifted like that, too.

Welcome!
Yeah, the two species belief doesn't make much sense to me either...but hey, I am a demonkin/cicada therian. *shrug*

I use to be a believer that I had to be 'one' or the 'other' it caused alot of confusion. But I believe some creatures risible a combo of more then one creature, so I don't have trouble accpecting it anymore if I didn't then I wouldn't even be able to accpect myself.

I don't think it's a matter of "Oh, 'polyweres' are all RPers..." as some people seem to think. Some are not, and know well how to separate their therianthropy from just some RPing game. It's quite obvious in talking to people whether they're RPers or not. The person I am referring to here (not just someone who likes to RP, but someone who pretends they're something they aren't), generally tacks on species, or traits, powers, whatever, in an attempt at outdoing you, or making you go "Wow, you're so cool..." When you don't react this way, they try harder and harder, until they're this Demon/Angel/Fairy/Battlecat/Iguana/Cow/Bumblebee thing that has the most psychic powers of all and fights all evil with his fiery Sword of Justice. The polywere who is honest with themself does not do this. They question who they are now and then, they think about stuff, they admit when they don't know something about themselves, and they recognize it as a road of self-discovery. People make things quite obvious when you talk to them. I try not to judge. If someone is obviously just tacking on species to outdo me, I don't play along. If they are nice to me, then I realize that they just feel they have to be better for some reason, and that even though it's irritating as all hell, I just deal with it. But I don't take them seriously. I'm just like, "Yeah, uh huh. Yeah... okay... " Smile and nod, basically. And once they realize that I don't have anything decent to say to them or that I'm not recognizing their wonderful coolness, they'll leave and hardly ever talk to me again.

I think that at first I was trying to fit in, or be seen as cool, but as time went on I'd realize that I was just fooling myself. I used to consider myself a shapeshifter, and could turn into whatever I wanted, but looking back I was just trying too hard, and it started to get ridiculous. Now I'm positive I'm a golden eagle, though I am open to the polywere idea.

Welcome to the wonderfulness that is therianthropy! You're not the only one questioning sanity over an equine/feline mix. We may have to talk more about this later.
