Was just curious if anyone has read anything good lately. Trying to see if there's anything else I need to plug into my reading list. I'm currently reading: Mind of the Ravne by Bernd Heinrich (I've had it for six months now I just keep getting distracted) Someplace to be Flying by Charles De Lint (this is my second time around for that book, I really like it.) Ravensong: A Natural and Fabulous History of Ravens and Crows by Catherine Feher-Elston (She's compiled a lot of legends that surround the birds mostly from Native American legends... she's a little off in some of the natural history but she's a historian not a scientist) Plan on reading soon: Raven's End by Ben Gadd Legacy of the Force: Fury by Aaron Allston (once it comes out in November, I admit it I'm a hopeless EU Star Wars fan I actually plan on rereading that entire series to remind myself what went on because fury is the seventh book) So what's everyone else reading?

I finished A Wing in the Door by Peri Phillips McQuay. 'Tis about a red-tailed hawk, true story.
Urgh... I'm still waiting for Red-Tails in Love to arrive in the mail, though.
What is Someplace to be Flying about?

I'm reading the Wolf Brother series, there is some really accurate wolf language and behaviour in there I can really relate to! Other books that rock: Eragon (Not The Film, The Film Is Nothing Like The Book And Also Sucks) His Dark Materials series ( Northan Lights(which is The Golden Compass in the USA) , Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass.) Artemis Fowl (the entire series) ...and many, many others. I like reading. Heh.

For you philosophical people, I finally got around to reading Being and Nothingness by Jean-Paul Sartre (warning: if you aren't a big thinker, I don't reccomend reading it, because many people have gotten seriously confused reading this book.) Ficton-wise: I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Book Theif by Markus Zusak.
I'll edit when I remember books I like.

I'm a big fan of the Alanna the Lioness series (cannot suddenly remember who it is by, or the proper titles, but I'll come back and edit when I've discovered that information once more) Then there is Dan Browns two novels which I entirely adore (puzzle solving and treasure hunting. Mostly the puzzle solving gets me going) The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons. Hm, I did quite enjoy P.S. I Love You (yes, the book they based the movie off of) That's all that comes to my mind at the moment... But now I believe I'll have to seek out Being and Nothingness, because it sounds intruiging thanks for the recommendation Seer

You're plenty welcome. It is really interesting. I reccomend post-it noting the points, it becomes an easier read that way.

im reading the wheel of time series, or return of the dragon, or whatever its called in english... great books, i really hate it that the writer (Robert Jordan) died, and as if his death wasnt bad enough, he never finished the series! (no conclusion = endless cliffhanger = endless frustration)

A few good books I read were Speak, A Dog's Life, and Animal Farm which was a requirement for my school. Blood & Chocolate was pretty good also (but the movie was horrible).
My school require us read the Lord of Flies as a senior but I don't know anything about it- what's it about?

Madd - I dunno if I want to read that yet. If our library has it, I'll probably take it off the shelf and read a bit, but I don't have an urge to.
I'm still not done with it because school has been driving me up the wall, but Watership Down by Richard Adams is amazing. Period. It's my favorite book of all time, now.
I guess that's a given because of my theriotype, though. :3

I just finished reading Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series too! ;D And I must say that I love the idea of dæmons.. And for those who like tigers I recommend A Tiger for Malgudi by R. K. Narayan. That's a story of a tiger told by the tiger. Absolutely my favorite book!

Hmmm... Good books... Peeps by Scott Westerfield was AWESOME. Unfortunately the second book in the series kinda sucked. Gregor the Overlander will be my all time favorite forever though. Hehe I'm going to have to add some of the books here to my library list. They sound pretty cool.
