I was wondering if anyone here suffers from what I call SCS syndrome (spontaneous cameo shifting syndrome), in which one constanly cameo shifts into animals that they are not. I do spontaneously cameo shift which makes it very hard for me to pin point my theriotype(s).

I cameo shift all the time. In fact, I am a contherian, so I never shift into my own theriotype. Instead, I tend to shift into my wolf spirit guide. Despite the fact that most posers claim to shift on full moons, there are those that are truly affected by the lunar cycle, as with myself. I will often find that I will shift one night (usually during the colder months, for some reason I almost never shift in the summer) and later look up at the sky and see that it was a full moon. I do not keep track of the lunar cycle, so therefore this could not be a "placebo effect".
Granted, I do not consider myself a "werewolf", even with the full moon's effect on my shifting.

Thats very interesting. I've never met a contherian with cameo shifts affected by the moon. A great deal of my cameo shifts are affected by the weather .

I wonder if spontaneous cameo shiftings doesn't happen because of one's personal totems, doing their 'dancing' in otherwords, they need to be 'played' out at times to feel more comfortable so to speak. But when one leaves, another will usually take that totems place and thus a 'new' creature or feel will happen insulting it what seems like another shift. I'm sorry if I'm not easily understood here.

No, you are well understood. You definitely have a good point.

It could be very possible that my cameo shifts are related to my totem(s).

I actually believe that the majority of cameo shifts are related to totems.

Don't the words "spontaneous" and "constantly" kind of cancel each other out? I understand what you meant, though. I don't shift, so... nothing to really contribute, other than it's interesting that your shifts sometimes line up with the full moon, Cicada.

Yes. I admit that is interesting, but I have never exactly been able to figure out why.

geez, i would be so confused if i had this "scs syndrome"! about how often would you say it happens to you, zeno?
and cicada, it's cool that your shifts are affected by the lunar cycle! have you only noticed it on full moons, or has it been on new moons, as well? i've heard that both are very spiritually energizing times, but that the new moon has more of a calm energy and the full moon has more of a wild energy.

So far it only seems to happen on full moons that I am aware of.

The moon never seems to have any effect on 'shifting' for me.

It doesn't affect my shifts, either, though I have noticed that often, a full moon will seem to cause activity and chaos in those around me. Like, things not running smoothly, car accidents, etc. But that's not every single time, and I don't ever associate a full moon with pure negativity.
I think it's one of those things that differs for just about everybody.
