I've been shifting for years, but never had such an intense (and strange at that) shift other than last night. You see, I felt somewhat wolf, very feline, and a little "reptillian". I kept lowering my head, as if crouching and stalking my ferret that was in the room with me. Licking my "paw", as well as "scent marking" (by rubbing my head/neck against the ground). I also kept acting in a playful canid like way, and "submitting" to the ferret. However, at the same time, I felt vicious, and had a look of "dark" and "intense" in my eyes when I happened to glance at the window and see my reflection. I growled and snarled quite often....I
hope I listed all the odd events...
Anyway, the shift was so intense that I even felt that speaking in normal human language was tougher...kind of second nature.
I HAD been wearing a tail that I had made earlier to look like a mexican grey wolf tail, and wore it most of the day. Could that have triggered the shift? I don't normally get shifts just from wearing tails, though. Perhaps the reason I even made the tail that day was because I felt more "feral".
Anyway, first of all, I do believe this was a legitimate shift, whether therianthropic or totem. Second, I do not know what I was. Normally during shifts I can say "Oh, I was feline", or "Oh, I was canine" (I'm usually canine in shifts), but in this particular instance, it was slightly more difficult to know. Any ideas of what could have been the trigger? Or what I could have been shifting into?
