what is the strangest thing that happened to you in relation to your therian?
mine was yesterday night, i was just thinking about maybe i would just be imagining that i am a therian, maybe im not even partly animal... but as i thought that, my stomach started aching, i started to feel lightheaded, and i started to feel as if i was gonna throw up strangest thing was, when i was thinking about the things that made me believe i was a therian, the sickness suddenly stopped! now, it could be coincidence, or it could be related.. either way, it scared the heck out of me..

Interesting. Perhaps your subconscious was telling you something?
I have plenty of weird experiences and, while many of them relate to birds of prey, they don't necessarily relate to me as a therian - just to my ability to communicate with them and such.
I can't really think of anything as of yet that's totally therian-related for me.
Your sickness reminds me of my experiences with a couple of eagles who had lead poisoning, though.

what is lead poisoning?

Being poisoned by lead. Occasionally we get birds in that have been poisoned by something in their environment - things like lead, mercury, I'm not sure what else.
Usually, with lead poisoning, it happens to eagles around hunting season, though. People still use lead bullets when they go hunting, and many of them (sadly) just leave whatever they kill out, and don't take it back with them. The lead seeps into the bodies of the killed animals, and eagles (and probably, other predators) see the carcass and are likely thinking, Free meal. So they eat from it, and they get lead poisoning.
And man... that's a horrible thing that they go through. They get so sick, they cannot even move, and cry - it's so sad to hear an eagle cry - that's not something eagles usually do.
That's why I really wish they'd outlaw lead bullets. I think they have banned them in California, but haven't anywhere else. I wish they'd do that everywhere.
But, in a couple of really bad situations, I'd come home from volunteering at the raptor center (I do this on Saturdays), and I'd feel so drained of energy, and I wouldn't know why. The last time it happened was a few weeks ago, and I even got sick and had to throw up. I got the feeling it had to do with the lead-poisoned golden eagle we have in there right now, and that she was somehow using my energy, but had depleted a lot of it. After smudging the house (using sage to clean out negativity), I was fine... even went to a Christmas party that night. That was the second time that's happened to me. And one thing you have to understand about me is, it's extremely rare that I get sick. And I had felt fine that morning. I cannot prove it was the eagle but... the last couple of weeks after that (that incident happened the first week after she had been admitted), she has gotten much better, although she's still not where she should be, and I am still worried for her.

Here's a website for you (http://www.nsc.org/library/facts/lead.htm) and basically it's when someone is exposed to lead to such a degree that they physically become ill. On the main topic.. I don't think anything really strange has happened to me (thus far, and strange is different for everyone). I have noticed though that one thing remains constant for me. I tend to collect or buy things without any particular reason (not like a packrat), that I end up using later on in life. When I was a child I collected rocks and gemstones, which just ended up packed away, until I realized that you can actually work with rocks. I don't know how or why I am able to do this, but it's been useful as far as my spirituality and everything else. But to relate this to my therianthropy, I have a few rabbit plushies, and even though I have never been particularly fond of rabbits, the ones I have were purchased because at the time I just had to have it. It's been useful because I often feel alone, especially while shifted, since my fiance is in the Air Force and can't be here to comfort my animal side. So, they come in handy when I need "someone" to bond with. I don't know any therians in these parts. )= Sorry, it was a bit rambly. I'm finding it hard to put my thoughts into words lately.

Hmm...I do say that I've had that unpleasant sensation when thinking I'm nuts about my therianthropy and empathy as well. Must be our spirits' way of telling us to get a grip But the strangest thing? Hm...don't think I've had anything too monumentously strange happen to me. Suppose the time that I went to visit my horse friends in the field behind my house, and my mom looked out the window to find me, and she told me when I came back that she couldn't see me. She said she could only see four horses (mind you, there were only three horses in the field at the time). I suppose I must've been in a deep shift (as I recall I was, because the horses were unusually interested in me that day (especially the stallion) and the lines of communication were more open too). But that's really about it. There are the stranger shifts I have when I smell blood, or hospital scents (you know, all the sterile stuff? Iodine, things like that). I guess my theri-sides register the memories I have of being in the hospital, and all the pain there, so when I smell that stuff they both come up and start panicking (I get unusually still, and will more than likely back myself into a corner unknowingly, or cling near to someone I trust). yes, that was ranty let's all rant, shall we? Good plan

Maybe your experience was coincedental? Of course, then again, the stomach ache did stop once you thought about what made you think you're a therian, so possibly you just got nervous from the thought of not being a therian? That's my guess, some anxiety may have taken over.

Just a note, you don't "become" therian, really. You're pretty much born a therian.

Again, forgive me for not being on topic but... on Saturday, I held that eagle I mentioned. She (and another) were the first eagles I've ever held and the interesting thing is, she rested her beak against my bare hand. Calmly. As if she knew me. And this bird is not trained at all - she's totally wild. That had to be one of the most amazing, exhilarating things...
Okay... *shuts up* Sorry, had to share.

wow RedFeather! I'm glad you got to have such an amazing experience! There are very few of us who get the chance to interact with our therian sides like that, you're very lucky!

It could well have had something to do with therianthropy, but I doubt a shift. I think RedFeather would know if she was in a shift.
I've heard many stories of therians having an animal respond in a strangely welcoming, affectionate way. Animals tend to sense things about people, and while they may not be quite able to tell a therian from a non-therian, they probably would get more trustworthy vibes from the therian. I think that's probably what happened here.

The strangest thing? Hmmm.... probably the time I thought about eating the house cat for a brief moment.
